Prom Dress Code
2025 Central High School Prom Dress Code
The prom, an important part of the Central High School experience, is a formal social event; therefore, everyone attending the prom is expected to dress and behave appropriately for a formal event.
Appropriate attire options:
*formal evening attire may include a tuxedo, suit with a tie, or sport coat with slacks and a tie. Jackets and vests may be removed, but shirts must remain on at all times.
*if wearing a dress or gown:
-the bottom must reach fingertip length when shoulders are relaxed.
-it cannot have a slit (front, back, or sides) higher than finger-tip length.
-the dress may not expose excessive cleavage or have a plunging neckline that is bare.
-it may not be excessively low cut in the back.
-the dress may not be extremely tight or form fitting.
*Attention:
If attire is questionable, students are encouraged to show their evening wear to Dr. Newman beforehand to determine if it is appropriate per the guidelines. All clothing must securely cover the chest area with solid fabric. The determination of the appropriateness of student dress shall rest with the prom sponsor or principal/assistant principals.
Students and their dates who are non-compliant with the dress code will not be admitted to the dance. No refunds will be given for dance dress code infractions in which students are asked to leave.
