Announcement

If a student needs to leave during the school day, parents or guardians must send an early dismissal note in the mornings. This note should be turned in to the office before school starts. Students may not be dismissed by email or phone going forward.

Reminders for Parents and Students

Parents and Students:

To comply with CCS Policies, please remember the following:

Arrive on time in the morning; classes begin at 8:25. All students must arrive on time in order to proceed through the bag check.

If students do not enter the classroom by the second bell, they will be assigned to In School Detention (ISD) for that period. Students will be provided work for that period and will be dismissed from ISD in order to go to the next class.

Students are only allowed access to cell phones, smart watches, and earbuds/headphones before the 8:25 bell, during lunch in the Commons Area, and after the dismissal bell. No devices are permitted for use in the hallways and classrooms.
-Offense One: Warning and Minor Infraction
-Offense Two: Phone removed for the period and Minor Infraction
-Offense Three: Phone to administration and Major Infraction

School issued IDs are required to be worn daily. Students who do not have an ID will receive a replacement for $5.00. Students who refuse to wear the ID properly will resort in disciplinary action.

Yearbook Photos

Please help our yearbook staff by uploading pictures to the attached link. It can be selfies at school, sport events, what you did this summer, you and your pet, etc.

Tutoring

Students may not leave the building after school hours and return. Students staying for tutoring should remain in the building and report to tutoring immediately after school.

Reminders for Students

-No blankets, stuffed animals, etc...
-No personal devices (cell phones, Beats, Air Pods, Smart Watches) should be visible on school grounds during instructional time nor during class change.
-Only sealed drinks and empty cups are allowed to be brought on campus. Only water is allowed in the classroom.
-Students are not allowed to bring in fast food for breakfast or have it delivered during lunch.

Nicholson Named Assistant Principal at Central High beginning with the 2024-2025 School Year

Mr. Joseph Earl Nicholson has been named as an Assistant Principal at Central High School beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Nicholson is a native of Richmond County and a graduate of Richmond Sr. High School.

Mr. Nicholson brings 28 years of educational experience from Richmond County, with 24 of those years dedicated to teaching at Richmond Sr. High, Richmond Early College, and Hamlet Middle School. Additionally, he gained four years of administrative experience as an assistant principal at Richmond 9th Grade Academy, Richmond Sr. High, and Hamlet Middle School. During his tenure at Richmond Sr. High, he also served as the head coach for wrestling, tennis, cross country, junior varsity football, and assistant varsity football coach. In 2022, Mr. Nicholson retired and transitioned back into the classroom at Marlboro County High where he has most recently served as a Math teacher.

Mr. Nicholson earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education from North Carolina State University in 1994. He also holds a Master of Education in Administration & Supervision and Instructional Specialist degree (2005) from the University of Phoenix.

Mr. Nicholson is a resident of Rockingham, NC, where he resides with his family.

Varsity Cheerleading Coach

Coach Stephanie Rivers is a native of Chesterfield County and a 2006 graduate of Central High School. Coach Rivers earned her bachelor's in business administration from Colorado Technical University.

Coach Rivers has been involved in cheerleading for over 12 years as an athlete, and 2 years as the JV cheerleading coach for Central High School. During her 12 years of cheering, Coach Rivers had the opportunity to cheer for North Carolina Central University where she gained her leadership and coaching skills.

Coach Rivers looks forward to the new season and the opportunity to cheer the team on to victory.
